Powermacs are great machines, whisper quiet with the 9 fans because architecturally they are built to disperse heat. the entire front panel has perforated holes for cool looks and cool temperatures. the G5 chip, now all DUAL, out performs any other computer chip out there at the moment, and the G5 used to make up the 3rd fastest cluster super computer once upon a time. it has been replaced by it's brother the G5 servers now. these chips are liquid cooled, much like car engines, and not just air cooled by fans! they are expandable to.. say 500GB, 8GB of 400Mhz DDR RAM, 3 PCI X 64 bit slots, 3 PCI 64 bit slots, optical digital in and out and of course the Firewire 800 and USB 2.0 among other things. for any consumer looking to do anything graphically or musically, this is the best you can get. on top of which you will be able to use the Apple LCD screens which are absolutely unbelievablly crisp and clear. finally owning a 20 inch from Apple, there is really no going back to any of the other brands. if you put them side to side there is no comparison, not even samsung or sony. if you like to take photos, them get a nice monitor, it's the only way to appreciate your work!
