the D50 announced!

Nikon has finally announced the D50 SLR camera in hopes to give the Canon D350 some competition. at first glance, i can't say it looks better, and it's definitely larger and heavier. when you go into the details, which dpreview.com has done elegantly for what they have, you will see that the D50 is a formidable competition. It is a 6.1MP camera with all the usual power of an SLR. to get a better idea, click HERE to read the preview. in general, it has 2.5fps speeds, Bulb, 30 sec to 1/4000 sec shutter speed, built in diopter adjustment in the viewer finder, built in pop up speed light, SD card memory slot, USB 2.0 high speed transfer, etc etc. it's got a ton of great things... really can't explain everything. for 899USD, you get the 18-55mm lens kit. not a bad deal, but the Canon is around the same price for the kit as well. since i have not played with either camera, i can not say which is better, but i'm putting my money on the Canon because it just looks more professional... not a good method to judge. the Nikon D70 is also updated with the D70s, adding a 2 inch screen. the Nikons are made in Thailand, while the Canons are still manufactured in Japan. go figure. but i'm partial, so try them both out and check out the preview and reviews.
