Aston Martin's ad"Vantage"

the Vantage V8 looks absolutely breath taking. coming out in late 2005, it is similiar to the DB9 which replaced the DB7 this year. for some people who don't need the extra horsepower, can relax and enjoy this piece of art at a lower price. (still expensive! DB9 is 155,000 - 168,000) it's no wonder these hand made cars are uniquely designed and customised. you might have seen the Vanquish go invisible, shoot rockets, or outpace a satellite laser from outerspace in the newest James Bond movie "Die another Day." but the Vantage is a whole different story. the lines are slightly less aggressive and more fluid, the front looks a bit more Maserati than Jaguar, but all in all it's a pure bred Aston Martin. having the chance to sit inside one, i must say it is absolutely incredible. the leather, the colors, the dials and the START button all add to the beauty of this beast. when it officially launches, i'd like to.... well.. just look at it again. 10:51 AM

Can anyone tell me why cars from Aston Martin and Maserati are so alike? But I suppose one's from England and the other is from Italy? Am I right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

12:00 PM

Ford (US/UK) owns Aston and the Fiat Group (Italy) owns Maserati. Now a days, cars manufacturers try to appeal to more customers by adding elements from other companies into their own. I guess the reason you find them similar is because they are trying to appeal to the same customer who wants quality car of good performance and appearance.

In terms of heritage, you could say that they are quite similar. They both started from brothers(Maser)/friends(Aston) who adapted racing cars into production cars in the early 1900s. Engineering wise, Aston are more unique in character and Maseratis are basically toned down Ferraris. Do check out the Maserati Quatraporte, it's a passionate italian saloon, which is completely different from anything else let alone Astons.

Maserati and Ferrari are both owned by Fiat, so they are even more similiar than the aston martin. the Astons are all made to order, and the interiors are usually customised in one way or the other.

I think the question should be why the Vanquish, DB9 and Vantage all looks so similar, are they brothers or just triplets?
